What
should I do if I find mold in my home?
The first step is to have a certified mold inspector take samples of the contamination and forward
to a laboratory for analysis. Upon confirmation of mold growth in your home, a remediation plan must be developed to properly
clean up the infestation. Addtionally, the cause of the mold infestation must be identified and corrected.

If mold is growing in my home, can I still live there?
It depends on several factors:
Where is the mold located? What type of mold(s) is growing
in your home?
How extensive is the mold growth?
The best course of action would be to have a certified inspector advise you after performing an inspection of your
residence.

Why can't I spray the mold with bleach and remove the mold myself?
For
starters household bleach does not kill mold completely. In fact it has been noted to be effective only on hard surfaces.
Chemicals that are specifically desiged and EPA approved to kill mold must be used.
In order to remove mold, the
infected area must be contained properly to prevent the spread of the spores into other areas of the house. The removal should
be done by fully protected workers using established remediation practices.
